AIIMS B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing 2026 — Detailed Information

1. Course overview

The prospectus describes B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing as a programme intended to develop nurses capable of providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with different medical and surgical conditions.

2. Who can apply?

Nationality

For the regular Indian-national entrance route, the candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Gender

For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, the 2026 prospectus specifies that only female candidates are eligible. This applies commonly to AIIMS New Delhi and the participating AIIMS.

Candidates awaiting results had to produce proof of passing with the required subjects and percentage during seat allocation; otherwise, their candidature would be cancelled.

5. Reservation

The general reservation framework in the prospectus is:

7. Is there a prescribed syllabus?

Interestingly, the prospectus says that no specific syllabus has been prescribed by AIIMS.

It states that the general standard of the entrance examination will be at the level of Class 12 under the 10+2 scheme or equivalent.

Therefore, for preparation, the logical source base is the Class 11–12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology syllabus, while keeping some time for General Knowledge.

70 − (15 × 1/3) = 65 marks

So random guessing can reduce your score.

9. Entrance-test qualifying cut-off

The prospectus specifies the following qualifying marks in the entrance examination for B.Sc. courses:

10. Tie-breaking rules

If two or more candidates in the same category obtain equal marks, the prospectus gives this order:

This makes Biology particularly important not only because of its 30 marks but also as the first tie-breaker.

11. Admission and seat allocation

Admission is based on performance in the entrance examination and merit.

First and second rounds
