Eligibility Criteria for PGIMER Nursing Officer:
The easiest way to understand the educational requirement is to think of it as two paths.
Route 1: B.Sc. Qualification in Nursing
If you have any one of the following qualifications from a recognized university or institute, you may be eligible:
B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.)
• Regular B.Sc. Nursing; or
• Basic B.Sc. in Nursing.
You will also need to be registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Midwife – RN or RN & RM – with a State Nursing Council. The notice does not specify a separate hospital experience for candidates qualifying through this route.
Route 2: GNM Eligibility
To be eligible a GNM-qualified candidate must fulfilll the following three conditions:
• Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized board or council.
• Registration as Nurse or Nurse and Midwife with a State Nursing Council; and
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience (having at least 50 beds) after obtaining the required GNM qualification.
If you are applying through GNM route then check properly your experience certificate. It should clearly state the period of employment, the nature of duties, the issuing authority, the reference number and the date of issue. PGIMER will take into consideration the experience gained after acquiring the essential qualification.

The normal age limit is 18 to 35 years. (ii) Age and other eligibility conditions will be determined as of 3 October 2026, unless an official change is issued by PGIMER.

PGIMER Nursing Officer Selection Procedure
No Interview for this Group B Nursing Officer Recruitment. The process includes:
1. Computer Based Test (Online) ;
2. Shortlisting by category;
3. Review of uploaded documents and submitted application;
4. Verification of original documents; and
5. Selection will be based on merit in CBT and eligibility.
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifying standard may be shortlisted at a ratio of about three to one (plus ties) for each advertized vacancy. Passing the CBT does not create a right to appointment. PGIMER should also accept the qualification, registration, experience and supporting documents.

PGIMER Nursing Officer Tie Breaker Rules
Where there is a tie between two or more candidates with equal aggregate marks, the tie shall be broken as follows:
1. Candidate with lesser wrong answers/lower negative marks will be ranked higher.
2. If still tied, the earlier born candidate is ranked higher.
3. In case of a tie, preference is given to the student with higher percentage of aggregate marks in class 12.
4. Lastly, the candidate with higher % in Class 10 is ranked higher.
Accuracy is twice as important: a wrong answer not only reduces your score, but can also affect your rank if you are tied with someone else.
