Passing the CBT does not ensure selection, it merely qualifies you for the next step (shortlisting for document verification).

A.3 Shortlisting Ratio

Formula: 3 x Number of postings advertized for a category (+ any tied candidates at the cut off boundary)

Example: If 66 OBC vacancies are advertised, then approximately 3 x 66 = 198 OBC candidates (including ties) will be summoned for document verification – NOT all 66 will just be picked; a wider pool is called first.

Tip for the candidates: Guessing without subject knowledge can result in a deduction of marks as there is negative marking. Only attempt if reasonably certain or at least 1-2 choices can be eliminated.

A.5 Tie Resolution Rules (If Total Marks are Equal)

Strict application in this order:

More bad answers/negative marks → lower rank

Earlier Date of Birth ranked higher (oldest candidate wins tie)

Higher % in 10+2 (Senior Secondary) → better rank

Higher % in Matric/10th -> better Ranking

SECTION B: SYLLABUS

B.1 Official Position (Important—Read First)

There is NO set syllabus for any topic in the PGIMER official announcement.

Practical meaning : The exam is purely based on Nursing curriculum taught in B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing / GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) courses. There is no separate portion for General Knowledge, Reasoning or English (unless corrigendum is issued later specifying otherwise). Candidates should check PGIMER’s website for any addendum before the exam.
