RAK College of Nursing 2026 Recruitment Details of Vacancies
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has released a Government of India vacancy circular for filling up two senior nursing academic vacancies at Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing (RAKCoN), Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi.

The vacancies are intended to be filled from eligible officers of Central/State Governments, UTs, statutory or autonomous organizations, PSUs, universities and research institutions, subject to the conditions in the circular.
1.Professor-cum-Principal Educational Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
Master Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Registered Nurse and Midwife with a State Nursing Council.
Experience required
In the teaching and administration of nursing.
M.Phil./Ph.D. in Nursing is desirable.
Experience requirement
For the relevant experience route, the circular says:
M.Sc. (Nursing) 15 years experience.
Out of this, 12 years should be in a collegiate programme.
3 years experience of Nursing administration in State/UT/Central Government.
Promotion pathway.
The circular also mentions the promotion route for an Associate Professor in Level 11, with five years’ regular service in the grade, besides the prescribed nursing qualifications/experience and training in Nursing Education and Administration.
Deputation
For deputation/short-term contract, the circular specifies eligibility criteria for officers from Central/State Government, UTs, recognized research institutions, universities, PSUs, semi-government, statutory and autonomous organizations.
The maximum age for appointment by deputation for this post is defined as 54 years on the closing date of receipt of applications.
2. Professor-cum-Vice-Principal
Educational qualification
The candidate must have:
Master’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised university.
Registration as a Nurse and Midwife with a State Nursing Council.
Experience
The circular specifies:
12 years’ experience with M.Sc. (Nursing).
At least 10 years of teaching experience.
At least 5 years in a collegiate programme.
3 years’ experience in nursing administration in State/UT/Central Government.
M.Phil./Ph.D. in Nursing is desirable.
Age for deputation
For deputation/short-term contract, the maximum age is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Recruitment Method
The circular provides different recruitment routes:
Professor-cum-Principal: composite method — deputation (including short-term contract) plus promotion.
Professor-cum-Vice-Principal: promotion, failing which deputation (including short-term contract).
There are also provisions concerning departmental candidates, feeder grades, deputationists and cooling-off periods.
